The exact longest series prefix determines the number and family of pump-core slots. Displacement codes are decoded only through the family table printed for that slot; identical codes are not generalized across A-AS, A-ASW, B, C, D or E cores. Shaft identity remains tied to the complete series. R/L is interpreted from the shaft-end view. Porting 00 is standard; other catalog-shaped porting codes are retained and require physical-orientation confirmation. Unsupported families and unknown special tails fail closed without blocking earlier evidence-supported fields.
